Iván Macías was born in Moguer ( Spain ) in 1982, and begun to study piano with 4 years with his mother, and with the pianist Marisol Pamo (pupil of Cubiles) with 6 years.
At the same age he played in public at the first time in Huelva, later he studied in "Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Huelva", "Conservatorio Superior de Música de Sevilla", y "Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid", with the highest performed expedient, and received prices in too many importants piano competitions.
When he was 14 years old he got his pianist degree certificate getting an "honor certificate and special prize end of studies" highest performed award. Later he got his superior pianist degree certificate with "unanimous honor certificate and a special mention"
In 2003, unanimosly he won the first prize of music interpretation in the Royal Academy of Fine Art "Santa Isabel de Hungría" in Sevilla, and the first prize "Ciudad de Albacete" the most valuable national competition in Spain, also unanimously.
Iván Macías studied for some years in Madrid and Sevilla with the professor Ana Guijarro, and also with the italian pianist Brenno Ambrosini. In the "Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid " studied with the professor Joaquín Soriano. In Sevilla studied with the professor Adela Barranco, and he studied in the Alcala de Henares´s University with the international pianist Josep Colom (winner of Paloma O´Shea Piano Competition), since he was 17 years old.
He travelled to Luzern ( Switzerland ) invited by the great maestro Vladimir Ashkenazy to play for him privately, receiving great advices.
He got master class of great pianist and professors such as Ramzi Yassa, Ferenc Rados, Rita Wagner, Sequeira Costa, Christopher Elton, Giorgy Sandor, Ilan Rogoff, Eugen Indjic,Ramón Coll, Almudena Cano, Claudio Martínez Mehner.
Macías has played too many concerts for all spain , for example at Auditorio Manuel de Falla (Granada), Palacio de Festivales (Santander), Patio de la Jabonería (Festival de Ayamonte), Madrid, Auditorio de Albacete,Alcalá de Henares, Sevilla, Barcelona, Leon, Baleares, etc.
He has played chamber music with clarinetists, violinists, cellists, etc... and he usually play with the clarinetist José Dolores Pérez.
Iván Macías has recorded for Radio and TV at National Spain Radio (RNE).
He got the culture prize "Felipe Godínez".
Very young he knew the compositor Primitivo Lázaro, and he studied his works with the own autor.
Iván Macías is considered by the critics where a very great young pianist and one of the most importants young pianist in Spain .
His next projects include the interpretation of the five Beethoven´s piano Concerts, a record for National Spain Radio in his central studies, and a tour for all spain .
In the next spring macias will start his first south-america tour.
In spite of his age, Macias is the founder and manager of the "International Piano Competition ¨Primitivo Lázaro-Ciudad de Moguer¨", "Superior School of Master Class" and "International Cello Competition ¨Lluis Claret-Ciudad de Moguer¨".
