Marija Pavlovic started playing the clarinet at nine years old. In 1994 she entered the Zagreb Musical Academy to continue with her musical education under the tutelage of Professor Milko Pravdic. In 1997 she graduated and started her postgraduate studies at the Mozarteum of Salzburg with the famous Clarinet player Alois Brandhofer, soloist clarinet of the Berliner Philharmoniker, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2002. Other advanced studies of hers are a Kontakstudium (specialization for post graduates) with the famous clarinet player Eduard Brunner in Saarbrücken, Germany; two years of specialization with Professor Walter Boeykens at the Royal Flemish Conservatory in Antwerpen; and also lessons with Professor Pascal Moraguez, soloist clarinet player of L?Orchestre de Paris.
Marija Pavlovic has participated in several contests obtaining awards like: second prize at the Zagreb Clarinet Contest when she was 12 years old. Air-Wood instruments prize at the 1997 Yamaha International. First prize at the Croatian Radio Contest in 1998. First prize at the Darko Lukic Contest in 1998. American Express and Zagreb Philharmonic Prize for the most talented and successful Young musician, 1998. In 2001 she became a member of the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation. ?Würdingen Preis? of the Austrian Ministry of Culture and Sciences, per se one of the most outstanding students of the Salzburg Mozarteum in 2002. In 2006 she obtained first prize at the AudiMozart Contest in Rovereto, Italy. Special Award ?Poulenc Award? at the IBLA Foundation Contest in Ragusa, Italy.
With the winners of the AudiMozart Contest in 2006, she formed an Air Quintet that has successfully performed in Schio and Rovereto, and she has plans for other performances in Europe.
As a soloist, Marija Pavlovic has performed at a great number of concerts with orchestras like the Croatian Chamber Orchestra, The Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, The Rijeka Philharmonic Orchestra, The Zagreb Soloists, The Croatian Radio Symphony Orchestra, The Haydn Orchestra from Bolzano and Trento in different International Festivals, under Conductors like Nicholas Milton, Alan Buribayev, Ivan Drazinic, Tonko Ninic, Christoph Georg Sandmann, Tomislav Facini, Miroslav Homen, Zlatan Srzic. She has also performed in the USA in a recital with pianist Gaia Vukelic in Phoenix, Arizona, and in Tel Aviv, Israel, with pianist Andrea Feilt at the Rishon Lezion Concert Hall. More recently, Marija interpreted the Mozart concert for Clarinet and the Suite for clarinet and string Orchestra of Jim McGrath, with the Montreal Chamber Orchestra under the Conductor Wanda Kaluzny.
