He has appeared internationally earning high critical acclaim as soloist with leading orchestras such as The Leningrad Philharmonic, The Philharmonia, London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, Israel Philharmonic, Ensemble Orchestral de Paris, The Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, Het Residentie Orkest, Bamberger Symphoniker, The Deutsches Symphonie Orchester, The Bayerische Staatsorchester, The Tonhalle Orchester Zurich, Orquesta de la Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Orquesta della Scala, The Toronto Symphony Orchestra, The Detroit Symphony Orchestra, The Boston Symphony to name a few.
Sasha Rozhdestvensky has recorded numerous works for Thesis and Chandos including the Schnittke Concerto Grosso No. 6 with The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic.
He premiered this concerto - written by Alfred Schnittke especially for him and Viktoria Postnikova in 1994
He has appeared in several international music festivals including Proms, Tanglewood, Schleswig-Holstein, Flanders, Gstaad, Istanbul, Colmar, Ravinia, Florida, Mozart (La Coruña), Taormina, Sienna, Lockenhaus, Montreux? and in Halls as Carnegie Hall New York, Barbican and Festival Hall London, Concergebow Amsterdam, Suntory Hall Tokyo, Salle Gaveau and Theatre du Chatelet Paris, Mann Auditorium Tel-Aviv, La Scala Milan always with great success.
During the last years, Sasha Rozhdestvensky appeared with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland (Dvorak), the Detroit Symphony Orchestra with a rare concerto by Kancheli ? And Farewell Goes Out Sighing...? , with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, Bamberger Symphoniker, National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Symphony Orchestra (Sibelius Humoresques)? We also can mention Glazounov concerto with the Orchester der Beethovenhalle in Bonn, Dohnanyi violin concerto N°2 with the Budapest Festival Orchestra, the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra in Kuala Lumpur under M° Gérard Schwarz (Strauss), etc.
Among various projects this season, Sasha Rozhdestvensky plays Sibelius at the Bratislava Festival, Glazunov and Mendelssohn under M° Simonov for a Spanish tour, then Tchaïkovsky for a tour in UK with the State Symphony Capella of Russia under M°. Polyansky, he also performed with Vilnius Orchestra, Tampere, the Deutsche Symphonie Orchester Berlin, the Yomiuri Orchestra... He also will play recitals and chamber music with M. Rudy, V. Postnikova, Gary Hoffman, Kun Woo Paik? in places as Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon, Festival International d?Aix en Provence, Dinard, etc?
This winter, he recorded Shostakovitch 1st violin concerto and Glazounov concerto under M° Rozhdestvensky.
His studies took place at the Central Music School in Moscow, the Moscow Conservatory, the Paris Conservatoire and the Royal College of Music in London. He studied with Zinaida Gilels, Maya Glezarova, Gérard Poulet and Dr. Felix Andrievsky.
Sasha Rozhdestvensky plays the violin of Guarneri del Gesu 1734 "Haddock" loaned to him by the Stradivari Society.
