Rista Savic
CONDUCTOR

Rista Savic belongs to the group of conductors who began their musical career as an instrumentalist (violin and piano). Born in the former Yugoslavia, he started violin lessons at the age of four. He showed exceptional talent in many areas, and began to show an early interest not only in violin and piano, but also in composition and conducting.

His strong interest in conducting intensified when upon completion of his music degree as an conductor.

His longtime experience as first violinist gave him the opportunity to work closely with world famous conductors.

In 1989, he formed the German Chamber Orchestra Frankfurt am Main, which consists almost entirely of first-chair musicians from leading German orchestras.

He has headed several European tours, which have taken him to Egypt, Belgium, Italy, France, Austria, Holland, Germany, Turkey and Switzerland. At the same time, he has been guest conductor with the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, the Shenzhen (China) Symphony Orchestra, the Mexican State Symphony Orchestra, the Constance Southwest German Philharmonic, the Bari Symphony Orchestra, the Long Mount Symphony (Colorado, USA), the Radio Symphony Orchestra of Pilsen, the China Peking Philharmonic, the Florence Chamber Orchestra (Italy), the United Europe Chamber Orchestra Milano, the Virtuosi di Praga, the Rio Camerata (Brasil) besides many others.

Since 2001 Rista Savic has been the principal conductor of the German Chamber Orchestra Frankfurt am Main and also the First Guest Conductor of the China Peking Philharmonic.

ORF commissioned Rista Savic to conduct a CD of works by Karl Bleyle (1880-1969). It includes the Violinconcerto op.10, Violincelloconcerto op.49 and Baccanten Overtures.

The Second Clarinet-Concert conducted by Rista Savic has also been recorded on CD as commissioned by Mexican Television.
